26 August 1988 S/RES/620 This resolution eplored the use of chemical weapons, condemned vigorously their continued use in the conflict, expected both sides to refrain from their use, and called upon all states to adopt strict controls over transferring chemical products to any country believed to have used chemical weapons. In resolution 620 the Council announced it would take further measures.
20 July 1988 S/RES/616 This resolution expressed deep distress at the US warship’s downing of flight 655, welcomed the ICAO’s decision to conduct an immediate investigation and urged “honourable and durable” settlement of the Iran-Iraq conflict.
