27 April 2011 S/RES/1979 This resolution renewed the mandate of MINURSO until 30 April 2012.
20 April 2011 S/RES/1977 This resolution renewed the mandate of the 1540 committee for 10 years. The committee was requested to conduct a comprehensive review of the status of implementation of resolution 1540 and recommend any necessary adjustments to its mandate every five years. The committee was also asked to consider by 31 August the feasibility of a coordination and leadership post for the group of experts, as well as the expertise and broad geographical representation required for the group of experts. In addition, the Council decided that the committee should submit an annual programme of work to the Council before the end of each May, with the next due by 31 May 2011.
11 April 2011 S/RES/1976 This resolution welcomed the report of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Legal Issues Related to Piracy off the coast of Somalia and requested a report from the Secretary-General within two months on the modalities of establishing specialised courts to try suspected pirates as recommended by the Special Adviser.
30 March 2011 S/RES/1975 This resolution imposed sanctions on Gbagbo and his circle.
22 March 2011 S/RES/1974 This resolution extended UNAMA's mandate until 23 March 2012.
17 March 2011 S/RES/1972 This resolution extended for 16 months the exemption to the assets-freeze provision of the Somalia sanctions regime.
17 March 2011 S/RES/1973 This resolution was adopted with ten votes and five abstentions and authorised all necessary measures—excluding an occupation force—to protect civilians in Libya and enforce the arms embargo, imposed a no-fly zone, strengthened the sanctions regime, and established a panel of experts.
3 March 2011 S/RES/1971 This resolution discontinued the authorisation for UNMIL to provide a military guard force to the Special Court for Sierra Leone in Freetown.
26 February 2011 S/RES/1970 This resolution referred the situation in Libya to the ICC, imposed an arms embargo and targeted sanctions (assets freeze and travel ban) and established a sanctions committee.
24 February 2011 S/RES/1969 This resolution extended UNMIT until 26 February 2012.
16 February 2011 S/RES/1968 This resolution extended the temporary redeployment of troops and helicopters from UNMIL to UNOCI for a further three months.
19 January 2011 S/RES/1967 This resolution authorised an increase of 2,000 troops in the overall strength of UNOCI military personnel and extended the mandate of troops temporarily deployed from the UNMIL to UNOCI.
22 December 2010 S/RES/1964 This resolution renewed the authorisation of AMISOM until 30 September 2011 and raised its troop level to 12,000. It also welcomed the intent of the Secretary-General to establish security and other institutional reform capacities within the UN Political Office in Somalia.
22 December 2010 S/RES/1966 This resolution established the residual mechanism.
22 December 2010 S/RES/1965 This resolution renewed UNDOF until 30 June 2011.
